Hi all,
I’m actually in Belgium – and really giving a speech next week in Bilzen (a town between Hasselt and Tongeren, in Limburg / for the non-Belgians).
Got quite some questions (are you in the country?, bilzen?, huh?), so here we go.
_
Some details:
Date: Tuesday February 17, 2009 – starting at 20h
Location:
De Kimpel, cultural center in Bilzen
What is it?:
a series of lectures are organised named ‘the owl of minerva’. Usually some professors and other smart people are invited, so a drastic decrease in the average IQ of the speakers is to be expected because of my visit
For who? :
Anyone. Usually, about 20 persons show up. I think it’s free of charge.
Why Bilzen?:
Hey man, it’s my hometown – my mom might even show up! Always cool to come home – and ‘small’ settings allow to discuss more than to speech. Even if I had taken myself not to give any presentations during a year (presentation overdose, I think I gave more than 100 in the 2 previous years) – I couldn’t refuse the request of the city council and a friend.
What it’s about?:
Not sure yet. Topics will include some of my learnings from Skynet/BelgacomTV, SBS/ProSiebenSat1 and Netlog - my view on the evolution of (digital) media and technology, the changing global landscape, some examples I like. And maybe something about the world of venture capital. And maybe about about the activities I’m currently involved in.
Anything YOU think I should talk about?
Any suggestions, or wishes (if you’re there)?
bart

PS: here’s the original invitation (note that I’m not operational at netlog anymore)
